ABOUT Manifesto of Bliss DJ’s (Brother Joseph and Reverend Deegs)
From its roots as a B2B DJ set by Brother Joseph and David Keenan at the Convenanza Festival in Carcassone, the Manifesto of Bliss has grown into a UK wide collective of counter-cultural music, zines and vinyl records.
Hosting bi-monthly club nights at McChuills in Glasgow featuring the likes of David Holmes, Sonic Boom, Jagz Kooner and radio shows on stations such as Clyde Built Radio and Music Box London they believe that an encounter with music has the power to transform people’s lives.
Playing a wide range of musical sounds from spiritual jazz to acid house via dub and rockabilly; the High Baptismal Flow goes where the previous record played takes it.
Erin Farley and Stephen Clarke 1980
“Two humans with malfunctioning brains.” – Partick Sailing Club
Dundee Folklorist Erin Farley and Northern Irish electronic music artist, Stephen Clarke 1980 set the art of Scottish storytelling to a beat-less cinematic ambient soundscape.
Following on from last year’s JACK set at Portobello Town Hall, the pair bring a new set of location specific folklore to the Futtle Brewery, St. Monans. Erin is an avid collector and teller of traditional lore from the shores, fields and haunted hipping centres of eastern Scotland whilst Stephen has published five books and a trilogy of albums under the title Magenta.
Expect the unexpected but Keep Dreaming and know that Hearing is Believing.
